> Count your opening float and start selling.

<Warning>Draft — verify each step against the current app and add screenshots before publishing. Remove this box when done.</Warning>

Open a till session at the start of each day, before you take your first sale. TwinePOS asks you to confirm how much cash is in the till (your opening float).

## Before you start

* You need a staff login that can open the till.
* Have the cash drawer open so you can count it.

## Open the session

<Steps>
  <Step title="Go to the open session screen" />

  <Step title="Choose how to enter the float">
    There are two tabs:

    * **Type It** — enter the total cash amount in one go.
    * **Count It** — enter how many of each note and coin you have, and TwinePOS adds it up.

    Both tabs show the previous day's closing balance, so you can check your count against it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm the amount" />
</Steps>

<Tip>Use **Count It** if you want TwinePOS to suggest which notes to send to the bank when you cash up later.</Tip>
